Firefighters were called out to the scene of an overturned HGV lorry at Hilborough, near Swaffham, this evening.
The incident happened on the A1065 at about 6.30pm.
Three fire crews from Brandon, Thetford and Watton were sent to the scene along with the police and ambulance service.
A Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said that crews had initially thought that the driver was trapped in the vehicle but that he was out of the truck by the time the fire crews arrived at the scene.
The A1065 was closed between Swaffham and Mundford shortly after 9pm tonight so that the lorry could be recovered.
