Investigations are taking place after a house fire on the edge of Norwich.

The blaze on Rufus Street, on the Queen's Hills development in New Costessey, broke out just after 10.50pm on Saturday December 17.

Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust treated one person for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters from Earlham, Carrow, Sprowston and Wymondham were called along with police officers.

A Norfolk Fire Service control room operator confirmed fire investigators were looking into how the fire started.

One neighbour said she saw two fire engines and one police car on the small street after the fire broke out in the two-storey semi-detached home.

She believed the vehicles left at around midnight.

An online JustGiving page has been set up to raise £2,000 to help the family who lived in the affected house.
