FIREFIGHTERS spent more than hour tackling a fire at a house in Gorleston today.

Crews from Gorleston, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth - including the aerial ladder - were called to the property in Middleton Road at 8am after a fire broke out in the loft of the two storey terraced house.

They used breathing apparatus, main and hose reel jets and a hydrant to tackle the flames, and later used a thermal image camera to ensure the fire was out completely. They also used fans to clear smoke from the building.

Police and the ambulance service were also called but paramedics were not required.

The fire was dealt with by 9.30am.
