Fire crews were called to a flat blaze in Lowestoft in the early hours of this morning.

The fire broke out at a home in Hollingsworth Road at around 3.40am, and upon arrival crews found the first floor bedroom to be “well alight.”

Crews from North Lowestoft and Lowestoft South attended and used breathing apparatus, a hose reel and positive pressure ventilation to extinguish the fire.

The blaze was under control by 4.23am.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was accidentally started.
