Crews have tackled two separate fires in Sheringham on the north Norfolk coast. Eight pumps, a water carrier and a support vehicle were at the scene of a field fire blaze in Weybourne Road.
Three crews were also in attendance at another fire near a railway line in Weybourne Road. Crews were first called at about 3.30pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said: 'The biggest fire in Weybourne Road is in the open. It's on a field of crops measuring about 10 hectares. The other Weybourne fire is by a railway embankment.'
An eyewitness described the crops blaze as 'horrendous'.
Simon Pegg, from Bodham, said: 'I noticed it from several miles away today driving back to Bodham from Cawston, and it seems to be mainly on a 'stubble' field.
'It seems to be on the Weybourne Road - separate fires, two on the same road.
'You can see the huge black smoke cloud from the window.'
'It's visible for miles - looks like a stubble field caught fire.'
It comes amid a spate of wildfires, caused by the ongoing heatwave and particularly dry conditions.
At 5.40pm on Wednesday, fire crews from Earlham and Aylsham were called to a large field fire on Cromer Road in Newton St Faith.
They used hose reel jets to put the blaze, and had done so by 6.15pm.
