Fire crews were called out to reports of a fire in a commercial building in Bungay overnight.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said smoke was seen in the building.

She said firefighters did not put out any fires in the building and said the smoke may have been caused by a false alarm from the shop's security system.

The incident, at the Co-op store on Hillside Road East started shortly after 1am and fire crews were at the scene until past 2.30am after using breathing apparatus to help deal with the incident.

Fire crews from Bungay, Harleston, Halesworth and Loddon attended the incident.
