Fire at house near Norwich’s Ipswich and Newmarket roads “not suspicious”

A house fire in an affluent part of Norwich is not being treated as suspicious.

As previously reported in the Evening News, up to 50 firefighters tackled a blaze in Fairfield Road, between Ipswich Road and Newmarket Road, after a family home went up in flames in the early hours of Monday.

Eight fire engines were sent to the scene where the roof of the property was well alight when firefighters arrived.

No one was in the property at the time.

A Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said investigations into the incident were still ongoing but that the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
