Residents at a Downham Market care home enjoyed a day of festive fun to celebrate the run-up to Christmas.

Staff, families, carers, friends and members of the community joined in the activities at Downham Grange which included entertainment from Tickled Pink Productions, who present shows for care homes and schools, a Christmas lunch and decorating a Christmas 'wishing tree'.

Annabel Banister, manager of the 62-bed home, said: 'All the residents had a really nice time, they had a really good day. It's part of the Christmas celebration so residents feel this time of year they are not forgotten and they are special.'

She added a few of members of the public, not known to staff, came to join the party.

'It gave them the opportunity to meet people and have companionship at this time of year when it can be lonely.'
