Regulars at a North Walsham pub are staging a 12-hour pool marathon later this month to raise money for a charity which has special poignancy for those taking part.
Chris Reynolds, 40, of Goodwin Road, Mundesley, and six others wanted to find a way of supporting Cancer Research UK after losing two close friends, Alf Batch and Liz Cooper, to the disease in the past few months.
The marathon team members are all regulars at The Feathers, on Market Street, and will stage the fund-raiser there on March 24 from 11am to 11pm.
The event coincides with a popular karaoke night at the pub and Mr Reynolds is hoping visitors to The Feathers that day will sponsor a player, or pay 2.50 for the chance to take part in the marathon themselves.
