A farmer had a lucky escape today after his £60,000 vehicle caught fire and quickly became engulfed in flames.
The fire began in the back of JCB as it was being driven along Holt Road at Guist, near Dereham, at about 4.50am and the farmer smelt smoke and managed to jump out before the blaze took hold.
As our dramatic pictures show, the fire was intense and left the £60,000 vehicle totally gutted.
Highways engineers are making arrangements for the area to be re-surfaced. The road from Holt to Guist is closed while this work is in progress and traffic faces diversions.
