Norfolk Police have said there is nothing more they can do, although they would investigate should any new information come to light.

Mr Kedar, aged 52, a builder and father of St Osyth, near Clacton-on-Sea. has not been seen since April 4 last year after visiting a friend in Norwich.

He was last seen in the Long Stratton and Thrlveton areas of Norfolk.

His sister, Diana Mays, said the family understood the decision by the police but that she and her other siblings, along with Mr Kedar’s mother and father and 15-year-old son were still hopeful hat he would be found.

She said: “I think that they (the police) have done all they possibly could do to find him and I don’t think there’s anything else they could have done.

“But I have to stay positive and hope he comes back. It’s hard on the family and he should be with us. We do not know what was going on in his head.

“It’s got to be dramatic for him to stay away from his family but we just have to get on with our lives and tell him that we love him unconditionally and hopefully he will come back to us soon.

“If he turns up one day that would be amazing but it’s tough on us all that he’s not with us.”

Ms Mays and other members of the family have made emotional appeals for information to Mr Kedar’s whereabouts, including an appearance on BBC One’s Crimewatch Roadshow last summer.

But despite several appeals and extensive police work to trace Mr Kedar he remains missing.

A spokesman for Norfolk Police said Mr Kedar drove to Norwich in his Peugeot on April 2 last year for a night out with a friend and stayed at his house.

He was unable to drive home the following morning as a friend had let his tyres down due to concerns that he was unfit to drive after the amount of alcohol he had consumed.

The same day he phoned his work colleague to tell him he would not be coming to work.

Later that evening, his family reported him missing and he has not been seen since.

“All relevant lines of enquiry have been exhausted which unfortunately have provided no leads in the whereabouts of Nigel” she added.

“While there are no active lines of enquiry, clearly any new information would be reviewed and acted on accordingly.”

Anyone with information about Mr Kedar’s whereabouts should call police on 101.
