Almost 900 people were evacuated from Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth today - after the fire alarm went off.
A spokesman for the fire service said it turned out to be a false alarm with good intent, but hundreds of people poured onto the pavement after the
alarm sounded at about 2.15pm.
Keenan Snell, pier manager, said everything was quickly back to normal.
