Last weekend residents of Fakenham grabbed their football boots and headed to the town's football club for an annual charity match.

The event organised by Kett Country Cottages raised a record amount this year with funds going toward two charities, MIND and Nelsons Journey. Each of them will receive donations of more than £1,000 between them.

Kett Country Cottages director, James Kilpatrick, said: 'I am delighted to say that the day turned out to be a great success, with lots of people turning up despite the drizzly weather. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces support the event, both on and off the pitch, and I would like to thank everyone again for their generosity. We even had a match ball from Juventus in Italy.'

The company thanked the volunteers and local businesses that supported the event and added that particular recognition should go to local butchers, Papworths, who provided post-match sausages.
