A Fakenham mother whose husband died from cancer two years ago is set to take on a charity skydive in his memory.

Jenna Harper, 38, will fall 14,000 feet over Ellough Airfield near Beccles on Saturday July 28 to raise money for the Big C Cancer Charity.

Mrs Harper's husband Ian was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2015 and the two were married on the Mulbarton Ward at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in June 2016.

Sadly, he died just three weeks after being released from hospital and Mrs Harper said: 'Ian had planned to do a jump himself a few years ago and spent an entire day preparing to do a similar parachute jump. In the end, due to bad weather, it was cancelled. So for me, this is an unmissable opportunity, an ode to my husband.

'My husband was and still is an inspiration to me, to our son, to our family and friends and to those strangers who never met him and only heard some of our story. Ian laughed and smiled in the face of adversity and will forever be an absolute hero for our son Freddie, he was a relentless pillar of strength and positivity.'

Saturday's jump will mark two years and one week since Mrs Harper's husband passed away and she says it's an honour to raise money for a charity that benefits so many people.

She said: 'My connection to Big C is personal and intimate through our journey and relationship. It's also my local charity, I knew I wanted to raise funds to help others who've faced a similar situation to us.'
