Greater Anglia trains are putting on extra services to coincide with the end of the Elton John concert in Ipswich later this month.

Elton John fans are encouraged to check before they travel on Greater Anglia's trains ahead of the event at Portman Road Stadium on Saturday June 17 and are advised that an extra train will run from Ipswich to Norwich at 11.15pm and from Ipswich to London Liverpool Street at 11.18pm.

James Reeve, Greater Anglia's area customer service manager, said: 'We know that Elton John's concert is going to be hugely popular, so we wanted to make sure that fans could get home safely afterwards.

'I'm very happy that we've been able to put on two extra trains to coincide with the end of the concert. We will be using all of our available trains and carriages, but we are still expecting trains to be very busy on the night.'

Thousands of people are attending the concert which is part of the legendary singer's Wonderful Crazy Night Tour.
