The giant lifelike-looking hare was designed by artist Phil Daniels and will be part of the GoGoHares charity art trail that is being brought to Norwich and Norfolk by children's charity Break and Wild in Art in 2018.

Break - which celeberates its 50th anniversary next year - organised this year's Royal Norfolk Show ball which is being hosted by Break patron Jake Humphrey and has a secret garden theme.

The newest GoGoHare - who is still to be named and has been sponsored by The Norse Group - was one of several hares to be found within the garden's array of trees and flowers.

Wearing the most beautiful masks, more than 650 people dressed in their best to attend the glamorous ball which was a year in the making.

Sarah Bunn, who oversaw the planning of the event, said: 'I am so impressed with the efforts everyone has made with their masks, and the generosity of people with their time and support, making this more than just a fundraising event.'

Ball-goers are having a great time exploring the secret garden - which is decorated with about 200 specially-made paper flowers - and also enjoying all the traditional festivities of a ball.

Norfolk jewellers Dipples has sponsored a diamond for a dazzling Heads and Tails competition and there is also a raffle and silent and live auctions.

Auction lots include everything from a master class with The Great British Bake Off's Kate Barmby to a trip to see the Northern Lights to a Formula 1 weekend donated by Jake Humphrey to a one bedroom holiday home at Mundesley Holiday Village donated by The Beeston Group.

Lots of other local companies and organisations have also helped to make the event a success. Among them, Bawdeswell Garden Centre loaned a special stag sculpture and plants and the garden was also made up of about 75 trees and various plants from other garden centres including Notcutts, Posh Plants, Romantic Garden Centre, Overstrand Garden Centre and Del's nursery.

The show ball is raising valuable funds for Break's vital work to help children, young people and families. For more about Break, visit www.break-charity.org
