Detectives have charged a 55-year-old man in Australia with historic sex offences in Norfolk.

Glyn Jones, who now lives in Major Mitchell Drive, Brisbane, Australia, was charged by officers from Norfolk Constabulary's Child Abuse Investigation Unit on Friday.

Jones, who was employed as a high school teacher for the majority of the time when the alleged offences took place, was charged with 13 offences including 11 counts of indecent assault and two of attempted indecent assault.

Ten of the alleged offences took place in Norfolk, two in Devon and one in Staffordshire.

The alleged offences involved girls between the years 1979 and 1996, all aged 16 or under at the time.

He was conditionally bailed to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court at 10am on Friday March 18.
