Former Norwich City footballer Peter Mendham has denied attempted murder at Norwich Crown Court.Mendham, who played for the Canaries for between 1978 and 1987, also denied a charge of wounding with intent following an incident at his home in Whitlingham Lane, Trowse, near Norwich, on October 19.

Mendham, who played for the Canaries for between 1978 and 1987, also denied a charge of wounding with intent following an incident at his home in Whitlingham Lane, Trowse, near Norwich, on October 19.
Charlotte Hyam, his girlfriend, was stabbed in the back and is still receiving medical treatment for her injuries.
Mendham was remanded to Norwich Prison to await his trial which will not take place until March at the earliest.
