The National Trust property will be celebrating the wide range of products that we can make from one of the sweetest most natural of our foodstuffs and the insects that produce it for the first time ever on Wednesday, August 24.

The event's been organised by Fiona Lilley, who has been the beekeeper at Felbrigg for four years.

'Bees help us in more ways than you might think,' she said.

'We've invited an eclectic mix of stalls selling everything from bee-friendly plants and skincare products to delicious food made using honey and items of bee-keeping equipment.

'Members of the West Norfolk and Kings Lynn Beekeepers' Association will also be on hand to chat to anyone interested in learning a little more about bees and why beekeeping is fun. We're really looking forward to seeing how our latest food festival develops, plus it's also a great way to raise more awareness for the plight of the honey bee.'

Bees help sustain our ecosystem by pollinating most of the fruit, vegetables and crops that end up on our plates.

Without the honey bee, our environment could change dramatically.

Felbrigg's Honey Fair takes place on Wednesday 24 August, 11am – 5pm. Admission is free but there's a 2 parking charge for non-members.
