A leading conservation charity has joined forces with this summer's Norfolk Day celebrations.
Norfolk Wildlife Trust (NWT), which manages a number of sites around the county, has become the first partner of the inaugural county-wide event on Friday July 27.
Norfolk Day, which takes place in 100 days, is backed by the EDP, Norwich Evening News and BBC Radio Norfolk and sponsored by Woodforde's Brewery and Richardson's Hemsby Beach Holiday Park.
On July 27, people will be marking the special event with a variety of community-led activities.
These range from sports demonstrations and artistic performances to family-friendly days celebrating traditional crafts, a mass cribbage tournament and Norfolk-themed menus.
Brendan Joyce, NWT chief executive, said: 'Norfolk Wildlife Trust is proud to be the first charity partner for Norfolk Day. It's a day to celebrate all that it means to be Norfolk, including the fragile landscape and our exceptional species.'
On July 27, Dr Ben Garrod, NWT and Norfolk Day ambassador, will journey across the county from east to west to highlight some of the quirky, precious and unknown wildlife nature reserves across the county.
He will start at Great Yarmouth beach and end at Roydon Common.
Mr Joyce said: 'We hope you enjoy following Ben's journey on social media and with Archant and Radio Norfolk and feel inspired to venture out yourselves over the summer.'
It will take in Upton Broad, Hethel Old Thorn - the UK's smallest nature reserve - New Buckenham Common, Wayland Wood near Watton and Weeting Heath.
Dr Garrod said: 'This is going to be a full day exploring the best, most hidden, most surprising sites for wildlife in Norfolk, looking for both rarities and common species.
'I am excited to get out there and explore all Norfolk has to offer.'

Norfolk Day online shop
An online shop has been launched selling Norfolk Day marketing material which event organisers can display on the day.
The shop is selling a four-pack of flags, four-pack of A3 posters and 20 balloons at £4, while 5m of bunting is £7.50.
Celebration packs containing all of the above are available for £15.
Norfolk Day takes place on Friday, July 27 and is intended as a day of fun in which individuals, community groups and businesses are encouraged to get involved by hosting or participating in events.
The initiative was launched by the EDP and Norwich Evening News in partnership with BBC Radio Norfolk and has the backing of business and community organisations who are planning events for the day.
