Aiden Lowe, from Beccles, was killed in a crash on the A143 near Gillingham on September 10, when the white BMW he was driving lost control and was in collision with a tree.

With touching tributes paid to the 23-year-old from across football and cricket clubs in Beccles, Bungay and Lowestoft – where Mr Lowe played – his contribution to the success of Bungay Town FC was celebrated on Saturday (September 23).

The Black Dogs' first game at the Maltings Pavilion since Mr Lowe's death saw the club remember Aiden before and during the Anglian Combination Division One match with Hindringham, and the reserves division four clash with Aylsham Reserves.

With a special four-team minute's silence impeccably observed prior to the start of the match, Bungay Town's first team lined up before the game wearing Aiden's number.

The Black Dogs beat Hindringham 2-0, while Bungay Reserves won 2-1. A club statement on the Bungay town website said: 'Today, Saturday, September 23, the club remembered Aiden before and during the home match with Hindringham, with a minute's silence held before the game, and a special edition of our matchday programme celebrating Aiden's contribution to the club. We were honoured to welcome members of Aiden's family, who attended the game.'

After the match Bungay Town first team manager, Richard Daniels, tweeted his thanks to Hindringham and Aylsham FC. 'I can't thank these 2 clubs enough for their co-operation on a very sad day,' it said.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr Lowe will be held at St Benet's Roman Catholic Church in Beccles on Monday, September 25 at 2pm.
