Police and firefighters conducted an emergency search of Great Yarmouth's Waterways, after responding to reports that a person's hand was seen in the water.
A member of the public alerted emergency services at around 3.35pm on Tuesday, after spotting what appeared to be a hand floating in the water in the park off North Drive in North Denes.
Police and two fire crews from Great Yarmouth attended the scene, with firefighters launching a dinghy into the water to further investigate the situation.
However, it was soon discovered that what was in the water was in fact a glove.
A police spokesman said: 'We believe this to have been a call that came from somebody with a genuine concern that a hand was in the water, and one that had to be made. It was made in good faith and the caller has been updated.'
