An MP made a visit to RAF Marham to see first-hand the world's most advanced fighter jets.

South West Norfolk MP Elizabeth Truss met with personnel from the Navy and RAF when she visited the station on Friday, September 7.

The visit, hosted by Station Commander Ian (Cab) Townsend, included a tour of the new F35 Lightning aircraft which arrived at the station in June.

Ms Truss said: 'It is wonderful to see the aircraft here in South West Norfolk – the infrastructure at Marham has had £500 million investment in preparing for the long term operational activities at the base.

'The Great British brand is recognised around the globe as a high value product and I am delighted that here in Norfolk, the expertise, engineering and training from our military and industry partners is proving to be a huge asset to the county.'
