An elderly man was attacked from behind and knocked to the floor during a robbery in Lowestoft.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident last night, September 26, at around 11.30pm.

The man was walking in Spurgeon Score when he was struck from behind by a person, causing him to fall to the floor and lose consciousness. During that time his wallet was stolen from his jacket pocket.

The man sustained a suspected fractured hand and has cuts to his face, hands, knees and ribs which required medical treatment. He is extremely shaken as a result of the incident.
