Youngsters at a Wymondham school got the chance to try their hand at the Paralympic sport of Boccia thanks to a visit from an award winning coach.
Pupils and staff at Browick Road Primary School learnt more about the sport when Wymondham-based Boccia coach Roy McGee visited the school for a day of games and coaching.
Boccia can be played by anyone, with or without a disability. Originally designed for people with severe cerebral palsy, it is now enjoyed by players all over the world.
As a target sport, played indoors with soft leather balls, the school's sports hall was the perfect venue for Mr McGee to give children an introduction.
'Here in Norfolk we have a thriving Boccia community with a number of teams and athletes. Earlier this year our Norwich Pioneers team came seventh in the National Championships so the sport is really on the up' said Mr McGee.
Head teacher Pauline McMullan: 'We are always looking to provide our children with new experiences and were honoured to welcome Mr McGee.'
