Sixth form students across Wymondham and Attleborough have been finding out whether all the hard work paid off.
A-level results day saw Wymondham College achieve the highest student average point score in its history, with an average of 38 points, equivalent to a B grade. Last year the national average was 32 points.
Dan Browning, head teacher, said: 'I am delighted that a third of grades are A* and A.
'We should also remember that our students have secured the results needed to move to the next stage in their educational careers, including exceptionally high numbers of students with places at Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group universities.'
The college achieved 84pc A*-C grades.
Wymondham High Academy received 86pc A*-C grades, with more than a third of results at A*-A grades.
Oliver O'Neill-Skuklaek received four A* grades and will go on to study maths and physics at University of Warwick.
He said: 'It's what I hoped for but wasn't certain of. You can't always tell.'
Jonathan Rockey, principal, said: 'Following a second year of record breaking results, we are so very proud of all Wymondham High students who have received their A Level results today.
'These results are all the more remarkable considering the new and more rigorous examinations structure.
'We are all indebted to the unstinting support and inspiration of their teachers.'
Wymondham High student Lara Styles achieved BCD grades and has an unconditional offer to study criminology at Nottingham Trent University.
She said: 'I'm really happy - I'm going for a meal tonight and then going out. I was expecting three U's!'
Attleborough Academy achieved 54pc A*-C grades.
Neil McShane, principal, said: 'This year shows another increase for the Academy in the overall pass rate to 96pc and on all other national measures.
'Congratulations to all our Year 13 students for their hard work and commitment. Particular congratulations should go to Emma Seager on her superb achievement of three A* grades, and one A grade.
'Thanks to all our staff for their dedication and professionalism and to our parents for their continuing support.'
