He first found his passion for dance at a Norwich theatre school and yesterday Britain's Got Talent star Alex Sturman returned to class to teach current students at Stagecoach Norwich.

Alex - who is part of the dance group Four Corners which reached the 2012 BGT semi-finals - took a break from dancing at the London Olympics to teach some Norwich youngsters the moves to Four Corners' routine to the Rihanna song Only Girl (In The World).

He said: 'I was at Stagecoach for about seven years. I really enjoyed it - it definitely helped me to build my confidence and it made me realise what I wanted to do in the future.

'It was so weird to be back here teaching when only a few years ago I was a student here.

'This was one of my first times teaching and I really enjoyed it.'

He said he decided to teach the Only Girl (In The World) routine that Four Corners performed on Britain's Got Talent because he said the song was an exciting and iconic number.

'We did some warm-ups and then learnt about 45 seconds of the Only Girl routine - and I just changed it a little bit for the younger ones.

'They all took to it really well. I am really proud of them,' said Alex, who is originally from Taverham and is now studying at Urdang Academy and living in Islington.

Last weekend Four Corners performed outside Buckingham Palace on The Mall to entertain the crowds gathered for the cycling road races, and next week the dance group will be performing in the Olympic Park at the Riverbank Arena, where the hockey matches are taking place, and at the Copper Box, where the basketball matches are taking place.

He said it was great to be involved in the Olympics and that he was especially excited to be dancing in the Olympic Park.

Jennie Featherstone, principal of Stagecoach in Norwich, said it was great to have Alex back at Stagecoach.

'We always knew he would do well,' she said. 'The children had a great time working with Alex.'

Rosie Spencer, 10 and from Norwich, said she had seen Four Corners on Britain's Got Talent and that it was 'awesome' that Alex had taken classes at Stagecoach and had come back to visit his old arts school.

About the workshop, she said: 'It was really good, really fun!'

Ava Reynolds, nine and from Norwich, said it was exciting to meet Alex and she really enjoyed learning the dance.

Yesterday's workshop at Notre Dame High School in Norwich was part of a week-long Stagecoach Norwich summer school.

On Wednesday the youngsters were taught by a performer who has appeared in the West End production of We Will Rock You, and today Britain's Got Talent 2011 semi-finalists Two-and-a-Half-Men will be taking part in the summer school.
