Update: Two more “good” Norfolk schools told they are sustaining their performance

Lionwood Infant and Nursery School and Heartsease Primary School join 16 other schools which have recently been given the news in a letter from Ofsted chief inspector Sir Michael Wilshaw, and told they will not face another full Ofsted inspection before summer 2015.

The full list of 18 schools is:

• Alburgh with Denton Church of England Primary School

• Garrick Green Infant School

• Watton Westfield Infant and Nursery School

• Mulbarton Community Infant School

• Kinsale Infant School

• Ashleigh Infant and Nursery School, Wymondham

• Fairstead Community Primary and Nursery School

• Loddon Infant and Nursery School

• West Walton Community Primary School

• Heacham Infant and Nursery School

• St Martha's Catholic Primary School, Kings Lynn

• Eccles, Hargham and Wilby CofE Primary School

• Earsham C.E.VA Primary School

• Cantley Primary School

• Harpley CofE VC Primary School

• Thurton Primary School

Good schools are usually inspected once every five years, but Ofsted carries out an interim assessment after three years to judge whether they require an earlier full inspection.

Factors Ofsted takes into account include pupils' attainment, progress and attendance, any complaints received, and any other significant issues brought to its attention.

In his letters, Sir Michael Wilshaw told the schools: 'I am pleased to inform you that the interim assessment of your child's school

indicates that the school's performance has been sustained. As a result, the next full inspection will not take place before the summer term 2015.

'However, should Ofsted receive information that raises significant concerns about the school in the course of the coming year, we may conduct an earlier inspection.'
