Thetford Academy has a new Executive Principal.
Adrian Ball joins the school with immediate effect having been appointed by the academy's new sponsor, the Inspiration Trust.
Mr Ball will work alongside principal, Cathy Spillane, as the school moves into its new £19m building.
He joins from the Ormiston Victory Academy at Costessey, where he was vice-principal.
He said: 'My commitment to the Thetford community is to transform education with the academy becoming an outstanding school within three years.
'In our first year, we will dramatically improve the number of students achieving five A*-C GCSEs including English and Maths. I want to see many more Thetford children going on to university.
'With our brilliant new build, the academy has some of the best facilities in Norfolk. My aim is for our education to be among the best in the county.'
Rachel de Souza, chief executive of the Inspiration Trust, said: 'Adrian Ball is an exceptional school leader, one of the new generation of principals who are transforming education across Norfolk.
'I have every confidence that Thetford Academy, under Mr Ball's leadership, will be achieving outstanding results very quickly.'
