A multi-sensory production of The Jungle Book was put on by a physical and sensory complex needs school last week.

The children at The Clare School, in Norwich, learn through sensory behaviour, and the show, put on by the secondary pupils, catered to a variety of needs.

The 50-strong audience of children and parents walked through a tunnel decorated like a jungle, with a sound beam inside it projecting jungle noises.

There was also bark on the wall to feel, different foods to taste, including honey, cucumber and banana, and buttons on the wall that made animal noises.

Each class created their own scene, involving dance, drama, video and narration.

Clare School student Felix said: “I loved it, it was fun dressing up as Bagheera. I liked seeing myself on the film.”

David Bloomfield, teacher at The Clare School said: “The audience thought it was absolutely fantastic.”
