Nearly two hundred children from six north Norfolk primary schools had a chance to show off their performing talents, at a variety show held at Sheringham High School.
Organised by Holt Primary School teacher Bonnie Yexley and teaching assistant Caroline Riseborough, the event followed a successful school choir 'sing-off' held at Holt Community Centre last year.
'Everyone enjoyed the concert so much that we wanted to expand it and do something bigger and better, but with a wider variety of performances,' Mrs Yexley said. 'We thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for us to show the community just how talented the children in north Norfolk are and give them a chance to perform in front of a large audience.'
Entitled Norfolk's Got Talent, the show featured a medley of songs by rock legends Queen sung by Holt Primary's 26-pupil choir The Owlets, chart hits from Cromer Junior School choir, tunes from Belfry Primary singers Sara and Poppy, 'Marvellous Magic' from Gresham Village Primary, a self-choreographed dance number from Holt Primary and a performance from Sheringham Primary School choir members, who sang and signed the hit song You're the Voice.
Also delighting an audience of around 200 parents and friends were Gresham Village Primary brass band and Kingfisher Dancers and solo acts Oliver the Hula Hooper, also from Gresham Village, and ten-year-old Sheringham Primary pupil Megan, who performed a stand-up comedy act.
After auditioning in front of staff and pupils, acts spent weeks rehearsing Mrs Yexley said, with parents and staff helping with practice sessions.
Holt Primary School head teacher Simon Walters said much of the success of show had been down the drive and enthusiasm of the children taking part.
'We are also tremendously grateful to Bonnie and Caroline,' he added. 'They have absolutely inspired the children, it has given them something to aim for and it has been a great way of co-operating with other schools.'
After the show, a retiring collection was made for Point-1, a service run by Suffolk-based charity Ormiston Families providing assessment and support for children and young people with mental health and emotional problems.
