More than 400 pupils were treated to some hands-on science at a special all-day event.
The Lablive national science festival – funded by EDF Energy – at Saint Felix School in Reydon, near Southwold was designed to inspire and engage the young students with experiments and fun, courtesy of science enthusiasts Jon Milton and Ginny Smith.
Science communicator and author Mr Milton, who promotes interest in STEM subjects, gave an interactive session on robots, getting the students on stage to take part in experiments to look at how robots work.
Meanwhile, Ginny Smith ran a “brain hackathon”.
Students took part to explore how nerve cells send messages through the brain and body as they created a giant ‘neuron’ live on stage.
Niki Rousseau, community liaison at EDF Energy’s Sizewell B nuclear power station, said: “The Lablive events are a fantastic way to make science interactive and fun.”
