The length of the school summer holiday has long been an issue of debate and controversy.
Many tourism leaders in our region expressed concern when the government said all schools would be allowed to set their own term dates, with the possibility of some setting a shorter summer holiday.
Others have supported moves towards a shorter summer holiday - and longer half-term breaks - as a way to bring down the costs of holidays during school breaks, and to prevent children forgetting what they have studied over a six-week holiday.
Now Norfolk headteachers have voted to support a school calendar very similar to the current system, and are asking parents for their views.
