As Norfolk's first university technical college opened its doors to its first pupils, its principal sat down to record a podcast with education correspondent Martin George.
Alex Hayes explains what the UTC is and how it aims to tackle the skills gap in Norfolk and Suffolk, how support from industry is a key part of what it does, and where its students have come from.
He also gives his views on the long-running question of how to attract more women into engineering.
