Primary school playground to get £40,000 revamp
Youngsters at a Norwich primary school will soon have a £40,000 new outdoor classroom and playground to explore.
Work will start on Monday, June 18 on revamping the early years space at Norwich Primary Academy in Clarkson Road.
The existing area for the school’s youngest pupils will be transformed on a ‘wild wood’ theme, with new features including a den, a crawl tunnel, climbing frame with balance boards, and story telling area.
The plans include an covered area to allow pupils to keep out of the sun or the rain, as well as artificial grass to help with use throughout the year.
Norwich Primary Academy principal Damian Weare said: “This great new area will be a really special place for our youngest pupils to explore, experiment, and learn, with the whole thing especially designed around their needs.
“It is part of continued investment in the school by the Inspiration Trust which in recent years has also included a new library, and new and refurbished classrooms.”
It is expected to be complete before the end of the summer term.
