The nation is in the grips of World Cup fever - and it seems our schools are no exception.

Classrooms around Norfolk have been celebrating England's World Cup campaign with special events, activities and lessons.

At Howard Junior, in King's Lynn, the England squad - and manager Gareth Southgate - managed to make an appearance, thought they were somewhat smaller in the flesh.

As well as the masks, the youngsters have filmed a motivational video for the England team, and are planning a party for the final.

Several schools have held World Cup themed lunches and lessons - including Earlham Nursery, who have been using penalty shoot-outs to help with maths.

Some schools, including Ashleigh Primary and Garrick Green Infant, have held their own World Cup tournaments to get youngsters in the competitive spirit.

At Eaton Primary School, the school will be holding a dress-up day for today's semi-final, with youngsters encouraged to dress up in the colours of the country they support.

At Great Ellingham Primary, youngsters - via a pupil's uncle who works in the Football Association - showed the England squad a good luck video before the quarter finals

They have made another ahead of the semi-final today.

And at Swanton Abbott Primary, the school last night performed World Cup themed musical Go for Goal, after rescheduling the show to avoid a clash with England's match against Columbia.
