More than 200 students are set to move into a new purpose-built hall of residence in the centre of Norwich this weekend.

All Saints Green, next to Norwich bus station on the corner of Queens Road and Bull Lane, will house 228 Norwich University of the Arts students – and opens at a time when the university is about to welcome its largest ever cohort of under- graduates.

It is one of several university buildings set to open in the city.

Angela Robson, deputy vice-chancellor of the university, said: 'We are delighted with the accommodation at All Saints Green.

'Adding to the university's student accommodation provision is a key priority.

'The All Saints Green hall delivers exceptionally high-quality living spaces equipped to meet the standards of our highly-rated student experience which, for the third year running, has been ranked as the best among all specialist arts universities in the UK by the National Student Survey.'

The accommodation includes en-suite living spaces, an eighth-floor common room with views of the city, and high-speed broadband throughout the building.

Built by Alumno Developments, it includes a Grade II-listed annex converted into a yoga studio and café, a landscaped public square, and bicycle hire facilities for both students and the public.

As well as the hall of residence, newly-restored Boardman House, on Redwell Street, will open shortly to provide studios and teaching spaces for the university's school of architecture, and new media labs and recording studios for its film and moving image production course.

The university will also open its new 'digital creative incubation centre' in the renovated Cavendish House building on St Andrews.
