Governors today announced Jon Ford will be the new head at Downham Market High.
Mr Ford is currently Deputy Headteacher at Rushden Community College in Northamptonshire. Previously, he has worked in Cambridgeshire, Middlesborough, Windsor and Maidenhead and East Sussex as Assistant Headteacher and Science teacher. He also spent some time working in the Maldives as a teacher trainer.
Mr Ford said: 'I am honoured to be given the opportunity to lead Downham Market High School on the next exciting stage of its development.
'I am very much looking forward to joining the community later this year when I will be keen to hear your views and ideas.'
Downham High chair of governors Alison Chapman said: 'I am delighted that we have been able to appoint someone of Jon Ford's calibre and we look forward to all that he will bring to the school and its community.
'Mr Ford will work closely with Gordon Boyd, our acting Headteacher, in order to pave the way ahead for our school.'
Mr Ford will take up his post later this year.
