There are many issues surrounding our education system so the one I will focus on is the lack of attention 'average' students receive.

Schools will continue to drum in that 'nobody is average' but for the sake of this article, some pupils are average.

The 'elite' (A-A*'s, at least) will continue to have their egos stroked by the structure dedicated to pleasing spreadsheets. The more academically-challenged students will continue to have direct and concentrated help - which should not change under any circumstances - but nevertheless they have a lot of guidance.

And yet, my question is: where is the help for the ones lumped in the middle?

They are left out on their own. To cope with stress on their own. To address issues on their own. Everyone goes to school to have equal opportunities, not to see special treatment. Everyone should be given advice on universities that would benefit, not just 10 out of 200.

The irony of being denied entry to Winter Formal for having attendance under 96pc despite being repeatedly ill; as they cannot have 'one rule for someone and one rule for another'. Taking the 'elite' on trips to enhance their chances of a successful education and not anybody else...

'One rule for someone and one rule for another'?

Maybe I am looking for a problem. I am completely aware that this is not the biggest issue surrounding young people but it's one I do feel rather strongly about. One that needs to be made aware and hopefully fixed. A concern of many.

I thought I would speak for the many.
