Short of ideas of what to do this summer? Here are a few dates for your diary.

1. Sheringham Carnival - Sheringham will be brought to life this August by its annual carnival. Expect to see events such as pram races, a tug of war, waiter races and to top it all off, a large parade. The carnival week is between August 1 and August 9, but there will be carnival events happening in Sheringham throughout the summer. My suggestion: Why not enter the parade, or one of these events yourself? Visit http://bit.ly/29eJ957 to find all the entry forms!

2. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe - The children's classic tale is being brought to life at the Garage in Norwich on August 12 and 13. The production is being put on by participants of the 'big summer production' course, a fun-filled two weeks of drama, dance and music - all hosted by the Garage, Norwich's very own centre of performing arts. My suggestion: Read the classic novel by C.S. Lewis before you visit The Garage to see their own take on the story.

3. Outdoor Cinema - Being held in the beautiful Plantation Garden, the outdoor cinema has an array of entertaining films for all the family this Summer. The films are running between July 21 and August 21 and include a whole host of favourites, including Dirty Dancing, Star Wars and Back to the Future. My suggestion: Visit http://bit.ly/29hQ7r1 for the full list of films, and find your old favourite - or, you never know, you could discover a new favourite!

4. Sundown Music Festival- This year's event is being held on September 2, 3, 4 at the usual venue of the Norfolk Showground. Some of the confirmed artists include Jason Derulo, Jess Glynne and Years & Years. My suggestion: Invest in some bright, neon face paints, a flower garland, and a decent pair of wellies in case the great British rain strikes.

5. Wells Pirate Festival - The annual pirate festival is returning to Wells-next-the-Sea this September. Head to Wells to have a swash-buckling day filled with plenty of pirate themed activities, from a smugglers' cove on the quay, to a treasure trail - perfect for the younger children. My suggestion: 'shiver me timbers' -Grab your wooden leg and eye patch, and get practising your pirate lingo!
