So, it's the start of a new year, time to turn a new leaf, and you've made your decision to change (for a couple of days, at least). How do you plan on keeping your resolutions?
You don't want to end up using your expensive gym membership only to give up after a few days. Here are my tips on how to keep your New Year's resolutions:
1) Tell everyone about it
-If you tell all your friends and family about it, then they'll support you but will also help to make sure that you do keep it - and stop you from breaking it!
2) Don't do it alone
-With someone else doing it with you, you can motivate each other to keep on going and it will feel even better as you do it together.
3) Remember to be realistic
-Don't set yourself goals that you could never achieve - don't promise to run every evening if you only get home at 10pm! Make goals allow you to reach your potential.
4) Start small
-Make a change that is small to start with, and develop it over time to help you ease into it. For example, if you plan to eat more healthily, change one meal at a time.
5) Reward yourself
-Maybe give yourself a small reward for each week you keep your resolutions, or for each month for those long term goals.
Hopefully with these tips, your chances of keeping your new years resolutions will be much higher, and maybe even more fun. Good luck!
