Former student and now Cheltenham Town footballer Danny Wright on inspiring visit to Attleborough Academy

He once put boot to ball in between classes at Attleborough High School, now Attleborough Academy.

And now professional footballer Danny Wright has made a return to his alma mater.

Mr Wright gave an inspiring talk to youngsters including Brad Davies, Jacob Edwards and Dominic Campbell, who currently play for the school’s football team.

Mr Wight also met up with assistant principal Simon Davies, who was his history teacher when he went to the school.

The 32-year-old, who is now a forward for Cheltenham Town, has also played for Dereham Town, Histon, Wrexham, Forest Green and Gateshead.

He also played in the school’s winning Year 10 County Cup side, and played for Attleborough Town’s Under 13s.

Mr Wright’s brothers Matthew and Steven also attended the school, and his nieces Bethany, Hannah and Elleinor are current students.
