A Swaffham charity is looking to educate the community on rural life with a new course that focuses on the development of East Anglia.

The Country Life course, which is being offered by the Swaffham Workers’ Educational Association (WEA), will examine the changes in landscape, society and economy during the period of 1700 to 1900.

It is being taught by Mary Fewster who has previously led courses in Swaffham on transport, religion and industry in East Anglia.

The course will run for seven weeks, starting on April 20. The cost of the course is £51 but people can attend the first session for £7 with no obligation to continue.

The WEA is a charity and the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. There are no exams and courses are focused only on expanding knowledge.

Information about courses is available online where you can also sign up to attend.
