A personal performance by The Voice singer Benjamin Lake, a tour of the Houses of Parliament, and some hampers of goodies created by Cringleford schoolchildren are among the many lots going under the hammer this month at a special auction of promises.

Cringleford Primary School, in Cantley Lane, is hosting the event on Saturday, April 28 to raise funds for new resources for the school which is moving into a new building next year.

The school is hoping as many people as possible will come and join in with what is one of the school's major fundraising events of the year.

Viv March, chairman of Cringleford Primary School PTA, said: 'We just want to raise as much money as possible for resources because when we move to the new school building, which is going to see the school double in size, we are going to need more library books, more maths and art equipment and other resources.'

She said the aim was to raise at least 3,000 which could be match-funded by the government under a scheme to drive up reading standards.

Lots of people have rallied round to provide a vast array of items to bid for – with everything from the chance to have someone iron 15 of your shirts to a week in a luxury chalet in the French Alps up for auction.

Mrs March said: 'There are a lot of great items on the list and many which are really unique and which you could not get anywhere else. Come along and take the opportunity to get hold of something really unique, grab yourself a bargain, and have a great night out.'

Among the items on the auction list are:

The chance to have West End singer Benjamin Lake, who recently appeared on BBC talent show The Voice, sing opera or musical theatre songs at your home.

Morning coffee and a tour of the Houses of Parliament, donated by South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon.

Estate agents fees up to 3,000 for the sale of any house, donated by Stratfords of Eaton.

Three nights 'glamping' in a bell tent at Cliff House Holiday Park in Dunwich.

A week's stay for up to 12 people at a luxury chalet at Les Clochettes in Megeve in the French Alps.

A chauffeur-driven car to a venue of your choice within 30 miles of Norwich.
