Norwich students have penned their own script for a 15-minute play which will be performed at a local theatre.
The English team at the City of Norwich School joined forces with the University of East Anglia (UEA) and its Festival of Literature for Young (FLY) people for the scheme, which gave nine students the chance to write a script for the play.
During the four-week project, the year nine and 10 students were overseen by playwright James Mortimer, a UEA masters student, as they wrote the play, called Waterfall, before taking it to theatre company Laughing Mirror Production Company.
It is currently in rehearsals, and will be one of six plays performed at the Maddermarket Theatre on Sunday, July 8. Performances begin at 6.30pm.
Katy Coupland, CNS English teacher, said: 'The students have been really excited throughout the project and it has certainly inspired their creativity and imagination. They have loved it.'
