Students at Sheringham High School are celebrating another 'outstanding' year for A-level pupils.

Headteacher Andrew Richardson said: 'This has been another year of outstanding A-level results at Sheringham Sixth Form.

'We are extremely proud of the grades achieved, fully reflecting the hard work and commitment of all our students, and the fantastic support from staff and parents.

'With nearly a quarter of all students achieving either an A* or A grade, almost three-quarters achieving A* – C grades, and all achieving at least an E grade, we maintain an excellent results track record.

'Particular congratulations go to our 11 Norfolk Scholars (over a fifth of the year group), especially Kelsey Pegg and Maddie Wright achieving a superb 3A*s, Anna Brady with 2A*s and 1A, and George Padolsey with 1A*, 3As and 1B.

'Our Sixth Form's great strength is its sense of community and individualised learning; each student continues to receive personal attention to achieve his/her goals, and we look forward to learning about the continued success of all our Year 13 students.'

Students Anna Brady, Maddie Wright and Kelsey Pegg must have had a fashion premonition when they woke this morning to make their way to collect their A-level results.

Kelsey said: 'Only when we arrived did we realise we were wearing something like a striped 'team' strip.'

The super trio achieved some of the top results in the Sixth Form.

Anna, who is off to Selwyn College, Cambridge to read History, put her success down to starting revision early and taking her revision cards on long walks with her dog Poppy.

She said: 'Of course the help and support from parents and teachers is paramount but Poppy deserves a huge amount of credit as she put up with me walking for miles talking through my History facts and dates.'

Maddie, who achieved 3 A* grades and will be reading Natural Sciences at York, said, 'I mixed up my revision and did little and often to keep things fresh, and tried to maintain as normal a routine as possible.

'I'm so excited about York; great scenery, great facilities and, of course, great shopping.'

Kelsey, who also got 3 A* grades and an A in a Further Maths AS, is off to Nottingham to read Physics.

She said: 'I was able to keep up with my work and keep my part-time job in a local café because I figured it would keep me sane. I'm so grateful for all the help from my teachers who have inspired me to pursue Physics at such a fantastic university.'

Director of Sixth, Ramin Keshavarz, said, 'We are proud of all of our students and all have university places of their choice. Our Sixth Form's great strength is that it is a 'team'; its sense of community and individualised learning enable each student to receive personal attention to achieve his/her goals, and we look forward to learning about the continued success of all our Year 13 students.'
