It is known across the country for its hugely popular Christmas Spectacular but now the Thursford Collection, near Fakenham, is to host an Eastern Daily Press wedding show.

A purpose-built permanent marquee, called The Garden Pavilion, has been put up and will also be open for various other events including training days, team building sessions and meetings.

Charlie Cushing, operations manager at the Thursford Collection, said: 'Our Christmas shows are very successful so we thought we needed to do something here in the summer to add another string to our bow.

'We are looking to hold weddings here as well from next year.

'We are always looking to move forward as a business and looking to get involved in new and interesting things.

'We approached the EDP after visiting one of their wedding shows at the Norfolk Showground and seeing how professionally they are run and how well they are marketed.'

Diana Sims, weddings commercial manager at Archant Norfolk, which owns the EDP, said: 'We are always looking to expand our wedding shows and to reach out to more and more people so we are delighted to be coming to Thursford.

'If things go well we hope to come back again for future years.

'We now run seven wedding shows. We are looking to move into Newmarket next and to go on to run 10 to 12 shows per year.'

The EDP will be holding a wedding show at the Thursford Collection on March 15, 2015.

The unique venue will be filled with wedding suppliers and experts.
