At first glance Charlotte James Photography and Events in Beccles may look like the standard shop of its type.

But behind the lens the couple who own it are bringing a wealth of skills and expertise to the town to make the planning of any wedding, party or celebration special.

Charlotte Moore and James Norman met while they both worked in London, but with Miss Moore's roots in Beccles, they decided to move back to the town with the hope of turning Mr Norman's passion for photography into a business.

And since the shop opened in November their impact on the local community hasn't gone unnoticed.

Aside from offering wedding and portrait photography, prints, restoration work and passport ID, they also offer bespoke cakes, event decorations such as bunting and lighting, wedding stationary and entertainment for all kinds of events.

Through collaboration with several skilled individuals and businesses the pair are able to provide customers with almost anything they need for an event - and in some cases they haven't had to look far.

Miss Moore is a vintage singer, who specialises in jazz and wartime numbers and Mr Norman is an aspiring 1930s performer. Miss Moore also has experience in burlesque dancing, face painting and performing with fire.

Her mother Sue Moore is a professional cake maker, origami bouquets and button holes are available through Gemma Saunders - Gem's Gems, while unique and bespoke bunting is on offer in collaboration with local mother/daughter company, Georgia and Sarah's Boomting Bunting.

The pair have also recently partnered with Beccles make-up artist and hairdresser, Kirsty Woolnough to work with them on future wedding and portrait shoots.

Mr Norman said that giving each other the support and drive to succeed had been paramount in helping to achieve their goals.

'We have had a lot of success in our opening two months, which we never anticipated when deciding to open a shop so quickly,' he said. 'We hope to continue to make our presence known to the Beccles community and surrounding towns and will strive to make service our number one priority.

'We felt very strongly that we wanted to work with existing local businesses and talented creatives to add that extra level of service and set ourselves apart from being solely a photographers.'

Miss Moore said: 'It's really special to be back in Beccles. I simply love all the stories and history our customers share when bringing in a photo they wish to have restored.'

Miss Moore under the stage name of Miss Scarlet Black, is performing her first solo tour Cry Me A River with the Strictly Theatre Company beginning on May 12 at St George's Theatre in Great Yarmouth.
