TASTY TREATS: Staff at the tea rooms at Dunwich Heath are expecting to sell 1,000 scones this weekend – with a huge range of flavours to entice visitors.

The National Trust centre is holding a Sconeathon, which will feature the public's favourite recipes from previous events along with new ones to tickle the taste buds.

The event takes place on Saturday from 10.30am to 3pm.

Catering manager Robert Conwell said: 'We will be making 1,000 scones on the day of various different types, a mix of savoury and sweet.

'It will be three scones for £3 and we expect lots of people to come in groups and buy selections so they all have a try at the different ones.'

The most popular are triple chocolate, apricot and almonds, raspberry and white chocolate, and sticky toffee.

Flavour of the month is St Clement's Curd.
