Ducks are set to make a welcome return to the River Tiffey in Wymondham.

But these water foul are not the type to go quack and twaddle away, but are far more inclined to drift merrily down the stream.

Wymondham Abbey's annual Easter Monday duck race will take place on April 17 at 11am at Becketswell, and participants can buy a duck from just £1.

There will also be a chocolate tombola, duck tombola, stalls and refreshments, including the event's ever popular bacon sandwiches.

The race did not go ahead as planned last year due to Storm Katie, which brought winds of up to 60mph to the region.

Instead, the race organisers moved the event indoors to the abbey itself and was renamed the 'alternative dry duck race'.The event usually includes several different races, which are sponsored by businesses and groups around Wymondham.
